Blog: Busy Times Ahead

The rental market is picking up and more expats are coming to the Netherlands: how did that happen? We rent out homes to employees of international companies and therefore keep a close eye on the expat market. Due to the corona crisis, the number of expats has decreased since March 2020. But for about four months now, the market is picking up again. And – fingers crossed – hopefully that trend continues!

Peak season: the summer

So the market is clearly picking up again. We believe this has several causes. We’ve noticed that international companies are allowing their employees to travel more and are getting back on track. Many expat projects have been temporarily on hold, but now they’ve been given the green light. Also the summer season is traditionally busy as well. For many families, this is the perfect time to move. That way, they arrive just in time for the new school year and the warm summer months are most definitely ideal for settling in a new country.

Hello Housing in Rotterdam

Our success in Rotterdam is also how we recognise the upward trend. Aside from our homes in The Hague, we’ve started with rental apartments in the well-known harbour city, and we’ve been busy ever since. Our first homes are located in the popular complex Little C, but we’re currently expanding our portfolio in Rotterdam. For example, we also have several apartments in the so-called De Rotterdam building, so there’s a sufficient offer for all our customers.

Everything remotely

Now that almost everything can be handled digitally, making relocation plans means it takes less effort as well. Our entire rental process, for example, can already be arranged remotely. It’s super easy and of course able to withstand all covid-measures. Another fun trend is the virtual viewing of homes. We are doing this more and more, and our experience is that it works very well and is extremely accessible for future tenants. Because we are honest and transparent in our offer and our working method, the homes and our service fully meet the expectations of our tenants who book with us remotely. Tenants can move into their house immediately upon arrival in the Netherlands and do not have to book a hotel first.

We’ve already been able to make many people happy with a beautiful home. Being happy with where you live; this has become increasingly important since we’re all working from home. We therefore continue to do our best to provide the most beautiful places for our tenants.
